Itinerary For 11 June 2010 - Episode Two

4.30pm- Walk around DanShui Old Street (淡水老街).

Both of them were eating ice cream while waiting us.

Here we are.

It's gonna rain again. :'(

Discussing with my cousin which place we must visit in Taiwan.

Young master is starting to buy the local snacks. :)

Wow!! Grilled fresh squid (烤鱿鱼) !!
TWD 100 for two, TWD 50 for large, TWD 60 for extra large.

I just tried 1 piece and it was too spicy for me :P How it taste? Young master said the squid is so tender and the sauce is spicy enough for him, yummy.

Vanilla ice cream.
TWD 10 for normal and TWD 20 for jumbo.

I ordered the normal size.

Yum yum!! The ice cream melted faster than the McDonald's.

Taiwan sausages that recommended by cousins, three sausage costs TWD 100. The black color sausage that i picked is squid flavor sausage (墨鱼香肠), didn't taste good for me. Young master is having the famous flying fish roe sausage (飞鱼卵香肠), i love it so much!! Still can taste the salty fish roe exploded inside my mouth!!

Young master is trying tuna flavor sausage (黑鲔鱼). I hate the heavy fishy smell so much! :(

The snack that highly recommended by my cousins, peanut candy (花生糖) + ice cream (冰淇淋). There are four flavor of ice cream- pineapple (凤梨), strawberry (草莓), yam (头) and passion fruit (白香果). You can mix and match it.

Scrubbing from huge peanut candy!!

We choose yam and passion fruit since the aunt said this two flavor is more match with the vege (香菜).

Dang dang!!

Young master asked me to bite harder. Anyway, i don't like the sour passion fruit. Young Master not really like the combination, he preferred the Roti stuffed with ice-cream back to Malaysia.

Young master searched for another snack - swirling potatoes chip (旋转薯塔). You can choose mix (综合), plum (甘梅), cheese (起司), garlic (蒜香), curry (咖哩) seaweed (海苔) or spiced salt( 椒盐). Nothing special, just a normal chip with special appearance :P

Ya, he like to act stupid in front of me. XD

So, i need to play with him.

Camwhole.

They're thinking to buy or not to buy......

the tempura spiced salt squid (椒盐花枝). The shop owner tried so hard to sell her snacks, gave us some samples to try :P And her tactic works!

You can see the long queue.

Yummy and al dente squid but a bit spicy for me. :p

Young master bought a squid ball while waiting them. If compared with the tempura spiced salt squid, this one can categorized as BIASA.

A place that sell all those childhood stuff like candy, cards, games, etc......

Feel thirsty after we eat a lot then we saw a stall that selling milk tea (奶茶). :)

Is huge!!! And just come in one size. This is my cousin's red tea (红茶).

Check out how huge it is.

The name card.

Dang dang!! I don't like the Ceylon tea smell but this one really taste good, maybe because of the milk they use. Young Master is a Coffee/Tea addicted fella, sure NGAM his taste la!

We bought iron egg (铁蛋) and fish snack (鱼酥) over this Granny Iron Egg (阿婆铁蛋) stall.

My cousins recommended us this mochi shop (麻吉奶奶). Aiya, my hand shake again. :p

The menu. Hmmm.... looks like they have lots of interesting stuff to try out.... maybe next time :p

We ordered sesame mochi and peanut mochi only because we are still full. The mochi in this shop is different from the others, it is made from fresh milk without any glutinous rice powder. We can't wait to try it!!

Sesame mochi (黑芝麻麻糬), TWD 100.

Peanut mochi (花生麻糬), TWD 100.

The aunt demonstrate how to cut it into pieces. Young Master mastered the skill within a second, he got talent!

They're excited too!!

This is how it look after we cut it (with chopstick).

Willing to take pic with my pretty cousins. *smile* The mochi is softer and smoother compare with the ordinary mochi. Although it is a bit pricey but still worth to try out.
Sesame mochi, TWD 100
Peanut mochi, TWD 100 too.
Sharing good stuff and warmth times with cousins, priceless.

We saw a very funny signage, Fish ball museum (登峰鱼丸博物馆). What do you think you can see inside there? A 80 years old fish ball? A HISTORY of fish ball? Or the ORIGIN of the fish ball? Or or the HIDDEN SECRET of the fish ball?... all those questions came from Young Master, please blame him for the stupidity.

Cute dogs. Remind my tiny at home, but my little dog is 100x naughtier than this two.

The sky started to turn dark at 6pm. Young master look so lost. XD

The AGeh (阿给) is famous snack at DanShui.

If you didn't try this mean you didn't visit here.

But, my cousins strongly advised us NOT to try it!! That just a taufu with glass noodles. And we also met a few tourist from Hong Kong that tried it, they also said it didn't taste good at all.

TO BE CONTINUE......
